Temple of reason Final

hey yeah wooo, yeah woo stuff! so ! i got this done in 6 hours : / over my goal but! more polished than what i was looking for so i think its a nice polish standard for the book i am making over the duration of my thesis.

But for all and all i think i did rather well, seeing as ive been having to wear a wrist brace while i work because ive been tearing up my hands between painting so much at home and at work.
Ive got tendonitis and they are currently testing to see if i have carpel tunnel (which we would like to hope not!) so after several needles have been jabbed into my hand (the drawing one ) ive finally gotten this thing done just in time for the first day of the semester here at MICA

so! a little bit about this location

This is the first thing you see when you come to the temple of reason. What is the temple of reason you ask?

it is a grand temple for the nation of Ar-Lao, who live near the sea. The temple is the place of highest worship where the dead are laid to rest and they are defleshed by white birds (as such the paintings of birds on the rocks) The people of Ar-lao worship death as the equalizer and believe that it comes in 36 different forms; each of which deal with the after life that you go to and the elements around you in the living world. The temple is simple as the nation only has stone age technology. They use a lot of the materials of their surroundings and attempt to disturb as little as they can around them.

The temple sits upon an island rock high above the water and is only connected by a single large bridge.

with hope i will be able to make a nice little concept piece of what the whole island looks like. this is more or less a practice piece and a high detail work just to set a mood and really get the project going!
